2014 Hirosaki University Senior Summer College

The 2014 Hirosaki University Senior Summer College was conducted for four days, from September 7, (Sun) to September 10, (Wed). The senior summer college program began in 2006 and so this was the 9 th consecutive year it was held.

The theme of this year’s program was “A Tsugaru Furusato (nostalgic hometown) Study Tour – HIRODAI at the front lines.” Two classes were offered that focused on an array of topics about Hirosaki and Tsugaru history, literature, and culture. These classes also included fieldwork with a trip to the World Natural Heritage Site of Shirakami and a visit to the famous cherry blossoms in Hirosaki Park.

The university is already in the planning stages for the next Senior Summer College at Hirosaki University. We look forward to welcoming you again in 2015!
