04.11.2014

Principal Officer JoEllen Gorg, Consulate General of the United States Sapporo (Japan) visited Hirosaki University. She was a Rotary Club international exchange student in Aomori Prefecture in high school and later returned to Aomori as a language teacher on the JET program. Through these experiences, she developed a deep bond with Aomori Prefecture.

After paying a courtesy visit to Vice President Wake, she visited the English Lounge to have an informal talk with students and then proceeded to visit the Hirosaki University Museum.

Later, she visited Fujisaki Farm, which is part of Hirosaki University’s Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences Teaching and Research Center for Bio-coexistence, and got to experience picking an apple variety developed at the University called “KouKou,” which is very sweet and yellowish in color.
